Explore the Coast Path

The South West Coast Path snakes off in either direction from Polperro’s pretty harbour.  Hugging Cornwall’s dramatic coastline and passing through hidden coves and beaches, there are miles and miles of coast path to explore from your village base.  Take a picnic and let your feet lead the way.

Fishing From Polperro

Really embrace that time out from the daily grind by catching your dinner here in Polperro.  There are regular organised fishing trips from Polperro harbour where experienced fishermen will take you out into the big blue, show you the sights and help you land that catch ready for your BBQ on the beach.  Cornish Mackerel tastes the best enjoyed fresh from the sea!

Museum of Smuggling and Fishing

Soak up a little of Polperro’s famous heritage with a few hours at the Museum of Smuggling and Fishing. Housed in the old pilchard factory, the museum sits on the pretty harbour side. A range of photographic displays, models and historic records paint a vivid picture of the history of fishing and smuggling in Polperro from the 18th Century right through to modern times.

Once you’ve explored the narrow but full sized streets, why not head for the Model Village and explore Polperro in miniature? As well as the perfect replica of the village, you’ll learn all about the fascinating myths and legends that make up Cornwall’s rich heritage.
